Alvit R. Sharvit (1972)

Curator, artistic director and artists management of contemporary

artists and multidisciplinary creatives.

Working internationally.

 

She is based in Tel Aviv.

 

Alvit has vast experience leading interdisciplinary cultural projects, contemporary

art exhibitions and cultural events.

Building curatorial concepts, productions and business collaborations in multidisciplinary arts, writing and thought.

She has personal affiliations with leading figures and institutions in the creative worlds and establishes high standards in her work.

Constructing contracts and collaborations in various fields of cross-discipline arts.

Over the course of her professional career, Alvit has constructed prominent collaborations with international primary Contemporary - International and local art galleries, philanthropy foundations for art and culture, major international art fairs, cultural institutions, performers and international contemporary artists and creatives in various fields (artists, performers, musicians etc.), international curators, writers and art collectors, as well as with established artist’s collection estates. 

From 2015 to 2019 performing as exhibitions director and co-gallery manager at Sommer Contemporary Art Gallery, Alvit has formed collaborations to take part in paramount events, such as Philosophy Night in Tel Aviv, a collaboration with leading international philosophers and the French institute; SWISS Talks, hosting and collaborating with the Swiss institute, inviting leading Swiss cultural influential figures such as museum directors and authors to present their field of expertise in an open evening event at the gallery; Sommer Salon; taking place in Zurich, hosting leading Israeli and International artists presenting their line of work to VIP guests in Switzerland.

She has also contributed to develop S2 –Sommer gallery’s Project Room, inviting emerging artists and curators to exhibit upcoming prominent artists.

To this day, she retains bonding work relationships with international contemporary art institutions and professionals continuing to grow recognition for innovative creatives and ideas.

Prior to her focus in contemporary art, Alvit lead projects as managing producer and PR manager in TV & film industry and in the international music industry. She worked closely with the legendary TV and film producer Itzik Kol as a producer on a TV show, and on numerous production projects with the large record companies, both local and foreign (Hed Arzi, NMC,  Sony, EMI etc.) as well as independent labels (Taktic Music France, Nana Disc, Krembo, Ent-T etc.), working with local and international music DJ’s and large scale events productions such as Love Parade and Pride Parade, building the concept and producing the first events in Tel Aviv, which are known as annual events to this date.

Amid that time, she has contributed her point of view and words as a music journalist in one of Israel’s largest newspaper publishers – Schoken group, covering the electronic music scene during the 1990’s and managing a department for music consultancy at MUSICA+ working with contemporary dance companies, fashion events, TV commercials and films.

Alvit graduated her studies in Art & Film from Camera Obscura school of visual arts in 1999.

Before her mandatory Military service, at the IDF spokesman department she pursued a career as a professional ballerina with the London Royal Academy of Dance program, which was cut short due to an injury.
